Why are people buying this closed system of Amazon instead of buying Android stick like Mi or something else?
U can side load any app (it’s based on android) and its lot more smoother than any stock android interface any day (it’s basically like iOS in TV world)

You can use a hdmi splitting box which will allow you to switch between a firestick and DishTV.

Something like the device above should be fine.. but have a look at the reviews and then buy. Some of these devices need you to select which device to use manually.. which is annoying at times

Good price but not loot, separate firestick at 2100 is loot.
best thing about fire stick is its customer support. My 4k stick developed some issues after 10 months… Amazon replaced my full set without much hassles.. I cant think of same service from other vendors like mi or nokia.
and yes.. in my personal opinion, firestick is way too handy and useful for elderly people with excellent and responsive voice search feature that is not the case with google assistant supported devices.
