You can upgrade ram with Crucial DDR3 PC3-10600, costs about 10$. I do that for my customers. It is not user upgradeable but you can take the book to any chip-level service center and get it done.
Any Coupons Applicable??

Take the netbook to chip-level service center (does not necessarily mean Authorized ASUS service provider) and have them replace the ram, there are 2GB mainboard chips available (I import those).

You can do virtual ram as well if you want to play safe.
Here is 2GB RAM Eee PC 1015CX http://www.ebay.in/itm/ASUS-NOTEBOOK-2GB-RAM-Ee…
It is little expensive but you get adequate ram without messing things up or taking a risk.
