Recently booked a cab from Ola to go to the Airport. The time was around 4AM. Initially fare shown was 434. However when the ride ended I was charged 556. There was no traffic and driver did not take any alternate route.

So I went to the help section to raise a complain to understand why I was charged more. Surprisingly the chatbot automatically issued a refund of 122 when I selected the option "My final fare was higher than the initial estimated fare"

yes Ola .. and their drivers often did such scams ...

Even they cancelled their ride in the middle .. stating... Either give cash or .. leave the taxi ...

I have seen few .. road fights as well ..

They never inform such things earlier.. or before asking for OTP ... But ... Try to scam in the middle of the journey...

Without thinking or respecting if you have any emergency or if you are traveling with an old person/ handicap person... madical condition person..

They never give proper response on complaints as well

ola is a scam company.

Once a rider took me to a CNG station in the middle of ride (without asking me...) and made me wait, I told him to drop me home first but kept saying 5 min me ho jaega...
after 30 mins my patience came to end i tried to get away from the cab... but said he will not allow me until i pay him the full due.
so he stopped the ride and luckily Payment was online due shown to him was zero so he allowed me to go.

After that Ola sent the payment request for Rs 800. where original payment was for 400 something.
i complaint in ola against the driver as usual they didn't do anything.
I was really pissed off with this and i did not pay anything to ola.
but they kept on calling me for the pending payment for months

I remember one ola cc called me and said ke "aap abhi ke liye full 800 pay krdo mai apka full refund dilva dunga baad me and thats promise"
I was like bhag b***** smile

they might have black listed my number but who cares

Eversince then I never used ola.

It happened to me two days ago, The initial amount was 1219 and I got charged 1759. As soon as i selected I got charged higher, boom refund credited.

I guess this is because even if 2/10 times users might not mind the extra charge thinking that it might be due to traffic, that's still crores in revenue.

Uber is another different kind of scam. Charged me toll twice (one called Sadahalli and one called toll)

Same happened with me as well when I had opted for OLA postpaid, the driver started arguing with me that "nahi le jayenge apko cash dijiye warna maat chariye". So, I had didn't let him cancel cause OLA is cunning fox and they will charge from you. I canceled the ride stating that driver denied to pickup.

I have been charged more as well. I don't use it often. I did that chat bot process. It shows voucher option in refund. I had paid via UPI. How to get refund in UPI account? I'm unable to find Call CC option on Ola.

On search, I get the question " how to call customer care" but not able to tap on it find out how .

Almost regular thing for ola n uber.

Less tech savvy people get scammed as they do not know how to claim this refund, but max fare can be what was agreed to prior to ride start, unless route changed or some other real factor.
