The scarcity of food sources for stray dogs and cats has become a concern. With the rise in food prices and inflation, households are producing minimal food waste, which used to be a significant source of food for these stray animals.

While urban dogs and cats can scavenge for scraps from restaurants and roadside vendors, those residing outside city limits face even greater challenges in finding food.

Recently, a cat began frequenting our house, meowing for food. Recognizing its need, we began feeding it, and this has continued for over two months. Interestingly, these cats only want to eatĀ fish.

Not advertising her, but someone from Chennai once mentioned that Nandhini S.V. ma'am genuinely arranged vet care and other things too

Although searching her name on-line yields even (Tamil and English) youtube videos from proper (TV) news channels

i could not immediately dig deep to find the address or contact details like phone number, e-mail.

Maybe locally someone will know.

Municipality can help with neutering, spaying,
but usually they do not relocate the animals unless there are confirmed reports of aggression, attacks or being injured in accidents.

(Due to overloaded facilities, standard practice is to release them back in the same locality.)

https://bluecrossofindia.org/What-We-Do.html surely has a Chennai chapter too.

I am being cautious actually, because in Chennai (or surely in Tamilnadu) there have been cases of over 100 animals having to be rescued from some 'shelter' run by an alleged veterinarian. They were mistreated, left unattended, hungry while donations poured in.

https://paws.org.in/shelter Paws is obviously always there. At-least till recovery, they DO shelter

Can be contacted on Whatsapp messenger. replace the "ā—" in the above phone number with "8".

Similar query but for Homo sapiens

Over breedingšŸ˜ .

Unlike the OP, I have even gotten over the emotional ohh-ahh factor w.r.t. to the 'cuteness' of the newborns.
